To the grieving mother

This heart touching piece is written by a dear friend Falak Khan

Verily we belong to Allah(swt) and verily to Him(swt) do we return.

Being a mother who lost her son even before seeing him,

I know how it feels losing a piece of your heart,
for whom you have been eagerly waiting for,
that too after enduring much pain.
Weak, broken and empty-handed.

And I think it’s completely natural to feel that way.
It is these emotions that make us human.

To the mother going through the same pain,
Indeed, it’s a huge test from Allah(swt),

But let me tell you dear,
what Allah(swt) has for you in store,
if you believe & persevere.

Know that when Allah(swt) tests believers with calamities,
HE(swt) gives them opportunities to raise their ranks.

Allah(swt) says in the Qur’an, Surah al-Baqarah verse 155 to 157;

And certainly, We shall test you with something of fear, hunger, loss of wealth, lives and fruits, but give glad tidings to As- Saabiroon (the patient).

Who, when afflicted with calamity, say: ‘Truly, to Allaah we belong and truly, to Him we shall return.’

They are those on whom are the Salawaat (i.e. who are blessed and will be forgiven) from their Lord, and (they are those who) receive His Mercy, and it is they who are the guided ones.”

How beautiful is the matter of As-Sabiroon(the patient),
that every loss for them in this temporary world,
brings with itself glad-tidings for the eternal Hereafter.

To quote a few for the grieving mother, Allah(swt) has promised for you :
-Bait-ul-hamd(house of praise) in Jannah
-Reunion in Jannah with your loved ones.
-Recompensation of the loss with something better.
-Forgiveness for the tiniest of pain(even it was from a prick of a thorn)
-the blessings & guidance from Allah(swt)
The list is long, Alhamdulillah.

O you who believe! When you are tested with any kind of loss, sorrow & failure,
just recall how much reward Allah(swt) has put if you persevere.

And when you strive to attain perseverance for the sake of Allah(swt),
you don’t feel empty-handed anymore.

Infact, you will feel healed, loved & content with Allah’s decree,
In Shaa Allah.

May Allah(swt) keep us steadfast on His deen & make us among As-Sabiroon. Aameen.
