When we dwindle with thoughts –
“I wish I would have died before this, had been forgotten a thing”
We are reminded of Maryam (a.s), how she (a.s) endured much more but had tawakkul on Allah Al-Hakeem, though she wanted to be forgotten, she will be remembered as the one whose ranks are elevated here and hereafter. Our hearts find healing that may be we hate a thing but it is good for us.
When we feel –
Claustrophobic, suffocated, dark, emotionally engulfed in intense emotions –
We are reminded of Yunus (a.s) how he (a.s) would have witnessed so much more, but there was hope inside the belly of the fish too.
He glorified Allah swt through certain kalimaat!
Similarly, there are many stories which are not stories of the past but healing and mercy for us.
Allah Al-Hakeem says –
وَنُنَزِّلُ مِنَ ٱلْقُرْءَانِ مَا هُوَ شِفَآءٌۭ
وَرَحْمَةٌۭ لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ۙ وَلَا يَزِيدُ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ إِلَّا خَسَارًۭا
“We send down the Quran as a healing and mercy for the believers, but it only increases the wrongdoers in loss.”
Holy Quran is a shifa and rehmah for the believers.
AND we know that surah baqrah ayah 185 says
شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أُنزِلَ فِيهِ ٱلْقُرْءَانُ هُدًۭى لِّلنَّاسِ وَبَيِّنَـٰتٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلْهُدَىٰ وَٱلْفُرْقَانِ ۚ
“The month of Ramaḍān [is that] in which was revealed the Qur’ān, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion.”
Ramadan is the blessed month in which Holy Quran was revealed, it is shifa and mercy for the believers AND guidance for all mankind.
Quran didn’t not come only to mend the broken hearts, but also to mend the broken societies by replacing it with the Truth.
Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was the walking Quran, he (pbuh) implemented the Quran, not only on individual levels but also on societal level. The same Prophet (pbuh) who told us that Fasting is a shield, the same Prophet (pbuh) has also told us that Imam is the shield. «الصِّيَامُ جُنَّةٌ مِنَ النَّارِ كَجُنَّةِ أَحَدِكُمْ مِنَ الْقِتَالِ»
“Fasting is a shield against the Fire just like the shield of anyone of you against fighting.”
[«إِنَّمَا الْإِمَامُ جُنَّةٌ يُقَاتَلُ مِنْ وَرَائِهِ وَيُتَّقَى بِهِ»
“Indeed, the Imam is a shield, from behind whom you fight and by whom you are protected.”
May the muslim lands be liberated, and they witness the deen implemented on all levels, may we witness shield on individual levels (fasting), and on collective level (by having an Imam – the righteous ruler) as well.
May Allah Al-Haadi guide us – Not to secularise Ramadan, Quran, and Taqwa – which also means being conscious of Allah as Al-Hakam, The Legislature.
