The befitting reply

“Did we not cherish thee as a child among us and didst thou not stay in our midst many years of thy life? And thou didst a deed of thine which (thou knowest) thou didst, and thou art an ungrateful (wretch)”

Surah Ash Shu’araa ayat no 18,19.
Worth pondering is the communique here, Pharaoh drafted his altercation well, he wanted to give the impression that he is the cherisher of Moosa a.s, and how he (a. s)  lived for so many years amidst of them,

furthermore he made him recall the charge against him.
Interestingly, in the same surah, just before this ayat Moosa a. s already feared that his issues in speech and the charge of crime against him may cause him great trouble and they may  slay him.

He (alaiyhis salaam) forwarded this concern and fear to Allah swt, The One Who knows it all, with the plea to strengthen him with his brother Aaron.

He swt inspired him to carry forward with his brother and put their trust on Allah swt.
Now, coming back to Pharaoh’s statement again, he constructed his words such as to make Moosa a.s indebted to his favour.

But Moosa a.s retorted well.

“And this is the favour with which thou dost reproach me, – that though hast enslaved the children of Israel!”
SubhanAllah!

What a befitting reply, beautiful isn’t it?

Peace and blessings be upon Prophet Moosa.
