SubhanAllah! Morocco performed sajdah (prostration) despite being defeated. This highlights the state of the believers’ shukr (being grateful) and sabr (being patient and perseverant, Alhamdulillah ‘ala kulli haal).
Morocco’s win over Spain, clearly highlighted the quench of ummah for victories, so much so that even in such nationalistic games like FIFA World cup, the ummah is looking forward for wins which for them has the connotation of victory.
Another remarkable point is that – waving of current colourful Palestinian flag (though nationalistic and designed by the British, the ones who created ‘Israel’ also through Balfour declaration) again highlights the ummah’s love and pain for occupied Palestine. All across, Muslims were looking forward for Morocco’s win despite belonging to different nationalities. This shows that despite the Sykes-Picot agreement (because of which as muslims, we are so much divided into different nations), the ummah still shares the same feeling of being one and being like one body.
May Allah Al Azeem bless this ummah, and may people enter afwaajan (in huge crowds) into Islam as was the case mentioned in Surah Nasr which was revealed in Madinah.
إِذَا جَآءَ نَصْرُ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلْفَتْحُ
وَرَأَيْتَ ٱلنَّاسَ يَدْخُلُونَ فِى دِينِ ٱللَّهِ أَفْوَاجًۭا
فَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ وَٱسْتَغْفِرْهُ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ تَوَّابًۢا
When Allah’s ˹ultimate˺ help comes and the victory ˹over Mecca is achieved˺,
and you ˹O Prophet˺ see the people embracing Allah’s Way in crowds.
then glorify the praises of your Lord and seek His forgiveness, for certainly He is ever Accepting of Repentance.
