Months ago, came across this beautiful waterfall which was not merely a natural beauty, yet another reflection to ponder upon.
As if telling us that no matter how firm and unyielding something may seem, Allah Al-Hayy (The Giver of life) can bless life through it. Just as He (swt) brings water from stone, He Al-Qaadir (The One is All Able) can bring guidance, mercy, and transformation from the most unexpected places.
It is a call to self reflection, Has my heart become harder than stone? Or do I allow the remembrance of Allah Al-Azeem to flow through it, to soften it, to give it life to actions that are beautiful in His sight?
ثُمَّ قَسَتْ قُلُوبُكُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ فَهِىَ كَٱلْحِجَارَةِ أَوْ أَشَدُّ قَسْوَةًۭ ۚ وَإِنَّ مِنَ ٱلْحِجَارَةِ لَمَا يَتَفَجَّرُ مِنْهُ ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ ۚ وَإِنَّ مِنْهَا لَمَا يَشَّقَّقُ فَيَخْرُجُ مِنْهُ ٱلْمَآءُ ۚ وَإِنَّ مِنْهَا لَمَا يَهْبِطُ مِنْ خَشْيَةِ ٱللَّهِ ۗ وَمَا ٱللَّهُ بِغَـٰفِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ ٧٤
“Even then your hearts became hardened like a rock or even harder, for some rocks gush rivers, others split, spilling water, while others are humbled in awe of Allah. And Allah is never unaware of what you do.”
(Holy Quran 2.74)
SubhanAllah! The sound of the waterfall,
felt like listening to a continuous tasbeeh, a declaration that everything in the heavens and earth glorifies Allah Al-Hameed (The Praised One), each in its own way, which we are unable to comprehend.
تُسَبِّحُ لَهُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتُ ٱلسَّبْعُ وَٱلْأَرْضُ وَمَن فِيهِنَّ ۚ وَإِن مِّن شَىْءٍ إِلَّا يُسَبِّحُ بِحَمْدِهِۦ وَلَـٰكِن لَّا تَفْقَهُونَ تَسْبِيحَهُمْ ۗ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ حَلِيمًا غَفُورًۭا ٤٤
“The seven heavens, the ardh, and all those in them glorify Him. There is not a single thing that does not glorify His praises, but you ˹simply˺ cannot comprehend their glorification. He is indeed Most Forbearing, All-Forgiving.”
(Holy Quran 17:44)
The signs of Allah are everywhere, even in the falling of water from the heights of stone.
