Reflections on Mountains

A part of His Mercy is that
He  Ar-Rahman allows us to witness the natural beauty around us. There are remarkable lessons in the nature around us.

Allah Al-Hakeem (The All Wise) wants us to do
تفكر
(reflect) upon the widespread lessons around us.

Alhamdulillah! Allah Al-Wahaab (The Bestower of gifts) has stationed us to a new place which is on a beautiful mountain.
The eyes were mesmerized seeing the beautiful takhleeq (creation) of Allah Al-Khaaliq (The Creator). Was wondering when this temporary world is so beautiful than what His Jannah would be, about which He Al-Azeem (The Great) has Himself praised and described as something no eyes have ever seen, nor a mind can comprehend.

The best part of the Jannah would be to meet and see Allah Al-Jaleel (The Majestic) inshaAllah.

SubhanAllah! Such beautiful glimpses should encourage us to strive more for Jannah, so as to see the The Artist whose beautiful art is so breathtakingly beautiful, to be in awe and reverence of The Only One Who shares not His dominion with anyone.
The One Who is
رَّبُّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ
(Rabb of skies and the earth).

SubhanAllah! Daily when I see beautiful, firm mountains from home, it seems as if I am being reminded of the beautiful attribute of Allah – Al-Mateen (The Firm), which inspires us that we should be firm like mountains on as siratal mustaqeem الصراط المستقيم
(straight path) with deep roots underneath. It is said that mountains have deep roots, deeper than even their heights, and they are also addressed as pegs giving stability to earth.

“and ˹made˺ the mountains as ˹its˺ pegs.”
(Holy Qur’an 78:7)

“And the earth We spread out, and placed therein firm mountains”

[Holy Qur’an 15:19]

SubhanAllah!

We all know that the mountains provide stability to the earth, and it inspires how in this deceptive world we should be providing stability to the message of Islam which is forsaken just because the narrative is built against it by the mainstream.

SubhanAllah! It seems, it was part of Allah’s perfect will to send us to the mountains.

Alhamdulillah! Every now and then witnessing them, it feels like we are being tagged to the essence of this profound ayah of Surah Hashr ayah 21.

“Had We sent down this Quran upon a mountain, you would have certainly seen it humbled and torn apart in awe of Allah. We set forth such comparisons for people, ˹so˺ perhaps they may reflect.”

Allah Al-Hakeem set forth such parables, such ٱلْأَمْثَـٰلُ so that we (humans) may reflect.

If we think it is quite deep. Mountains are hard, solid structures, but had Holy Qur’an been sent upon a mountain, it would have torn apart in خَشْيَةِ ٱللَّهِ (awe, fear of Allah) and would have humbled down in total submission to
Allah Al-Azeem’s ahkaam (commands).

What has led us away then from being in awe of
Allah Al-Kabeer?

Are our hearts harder than mountains should be our default question whenever we find ourselves inclined even a bit toward the خُطُوَاتِ الشَّيْطَانِ
(footprints of shaitan).

We should pray to Allah Al-Mateen (The Firm)

يَا مُقَلِّبَ الْقُلُوبِ ثَبِّتْ قَلْبِى عَلَى دِينِكَ –
“Oh Turner of hearts, make my heart firm upon Your deen.”

Ameen.
