That One Golden Rule

SubhanAllah! I have captured this beautiful photo years ago while on a casual walk.

Those who know me, knows it very well that I believe Islam teaches mindfulness of the signs of Allah Al-Akbar in everything. The Holy Qur’an constantly invites us to look, ponder and reflect!

A simple leaf can become a page of inspiration for the heart willing to read. This image reminds us to seek reminders in seemingly ordinary things.

SubhanAllah! A single autumn leaf, caught on a wooden fence, with a backdrop of trees still holding onto their green. Note that this leaf is suspended not quite fallen, not quite clinging. It echoes our own spiritual states. There are sometimes moments in life where we, too, are caught in transition between doubt and certainty, between sin and repentance, between dunya and akhirah.

No matter our state – We need to hold onto one rule always

“So flee to Allah. Indeed, I am to you from Him a clear warner.”
(Holy Qur’an 51:50)

Even when we’re stuck or unsure, turning to Allah ta’ala is always the answer. That suspended moment may be the mercy of Allah Al-Hakeem giving us time to reflect before we fall OR before we rise!
