Reflections on Icicles

SubhanAllah! Icicles are so beautiful to watch and capture. But was wondering about them that not everything that looks beautiful is good for you. Icicles sparkle like glass and look harmless, even magical. But if one falls, it can seriously injure someone.

Islam teaches us to look beyond appearances and judge by reality, not by mere appearances, attraction.

This world is decorated to appear appealing, but that does not mean everything in it is beneficial for our soul.

Like for example, A person may appear charming, stylish, and confident, yet their influence could pull you away from Islam.

A job may offer high pay and prestige, but if it involves haram income, ظلم, or dishonesty, its beauty is deceptive.
Gossip can feel light and social, but it damages hearts, relationships, and earns sin.

That is why we constantly need baseerah (spiritual insight), not just eyesight.
We should always ask Allah Al-Baseer (The All-Seeing) to grant us baseerah so we see beyond surfaces and into truth.

The Dua we should include in our lives-

“Ya Allah, show us the truth as truth and grant us the ability to follow it, and show us falsehood as falsehood and grant us the ability to avoid it.”
