Back in Vancouver, we once had to step out of our building because of a fire alarm, a false alarm, Alhamdulillah.
While waiting outside, I wandered around the neighborhood and captured this scene.
Today, I came across this picture again, and for some reason, it reminded me of Prophet Nuh (Noah), peace be upon him.
I began thinking about how he (a.s) must have felt while building the ark, when there was no sign of a flood, just dry land all around. Yet he (a.s) continued, with unwavering trust, because Allah Al-Aleem commanded it.
Today, those who are striving toward a collective obligation, the peaceful revival of Islam as a nidham in so called Islamic countries, many mock the idea by saying, “How can it happen?” as they see no sign of it, only a dry horizon. They label them as day-dreamers, not pragmatic, not knowing the maslehat.
InshaAllah! It is evident, it will happen, even if there appears no apparent sign, even everything seems dried, that it’s not just a dream, it’s a Divine promise, and a command from Allah Al-Azeem that needs to be collectively
fulfilled.
SubhanAllah! The question we need to be asking ourselves is – Are we building the ark, not of wood and planks, but of conviction and concepts based on what Allah Al-Hakam has revealed, before the flood overwhelms us completely?
The flood of Nuh (Noah a.s) was water, sweeping away everything that stood outside it. Ours is, a flood of purposelessness in life, distraction, consumerism, illogical comparisons, individualism (me, myself and I), greed (at-takathur), defeatist and colonised mentality, and all the other hollow systems of taghoot and shirk!
