SubhanAllah! As I scrolled through my photo gallery, I came across a beautiful photo that I had taken a long time ago. These beautiful maple leaves were given to me as a gift, yeah! I love such gifts, and today as I scrolled, this picture caught my attention, and I decided to write a few words about it today.
These leaves are not clones. They do not look the same, grow the same, or age the same. Yet every one of them belongs to the same maple leaf tree. Their differences do not cancel their connection to the same tree.
SubhanAllah! Islam never demanded that believers become carbon copies of one another. It demanded alignment of the heart, direction, and loyalty to Allah Al-A’zeem. Not identical personalities. Not identical skills. Not identical temperaments.
Some people are quiet. Some are expressive.
Some are deep thinkers. Some are fast movers.
Some create beauty. Some analyze structure.
Some are soft in tone. Some are firm in stance.
All of them can be sincere.
All of them can be righteous.
All of them can be beloved to Allah Al-Wadood (The Most Loving One).
Being different does not mean being distant from the Deen. It often means Allah Al-Hakeem (The Most Wise) placed you in a different lane of service. One Ummah does not mean one personality. It means one direction of walking on sirat al mustaqeem.
Difference is not deviation. It is Divine variety. Allah Al-Hakeem Himself created variety because the mission requires many types of servants. Unity does not require uniformity.
On another note-
Look at the royal blue beneath the leaves. That deep, dark background is what makes their colors so highly visible. Without it, their beauty would fade into silence.
Allah Al-Hakeem often does the same with people. He places His servants on dark backgrounds so their faith, patience, and character can be seen clearly. Hardship is not meant to erase you. It is meant to reveal you. We all can relate to it.
Trials sharpen your sincerity.
Pressure exposes your priorities. Loneliness polishes your relationship with Allah Al-Waahid. Delays refine your intentions.
Hardship is not your enemy. It is your contrast agent. It brings out what was already inside you.
