Beautiful names of our Rabb
Al-Hakam
Meaning – The Judge
(Say to them, O Messenger:) “What! Shall I seek other than Allah for judge (to settle the matters between you and me), when it is He Who has sent down to you this (unique, most perfect) Book (in which truth and falsehood, right and wrong are) fully distinguished?” And those to whom We [previously] gave the Scripture know that it is sent down from your Lord in truth, so never be among the doubters.”
(Holy Quran 6:114)
Allah is Al Hakam and He alone is The Best Judge to decide what is right and what is wrong course for us to follow and to avoid.
We should never be among the doubters even if we have to face the whole sea of criticism. We should remember Allah as Al Hakam and should avoid all hukum (commands) that go against His will even if they appear to us “practical” or “along the lines with the prevalent times”. We should realise and remember always that only Allah is Al Hakam – The Best to Judge and Decide and His hikmat (infinite wisdom) alone knows the best that what is best for us and what not.
Allah Al Hakam’s judgements and His set boundaries are best for us to abide by even if we are unable to comprehend and understand it by our limited minds.
We need to understand that those who do not rule by what Allah Al Hakam has revealed are the wrong doers, oppressors as mentioned by surah maida ayat 45
وَمَنۡ لَّمۡ يَحۡكُمۡ بِمَاۤ اَنۡزَلَ اللّٰهُ فَاُولٰٓٮِٕكَ هُمُ الظّٰلِمُوۡنَ
“And those who do not judge by what Allah has revealed are ˹truly˺ the wrongdoers.”
AllahuAkbar! We can clearly see today that no one on this earth right now is ruling by what Allah Al Hakam has revealed, and the zulm (oppression, evil) can be witnessed FROM the ever widening gap between poor and rich TO the very climate change.
Hasbunallahu wa’nimal wakeel!
